An incident-tracking system is used for recording and reporting bugs and other testing
problems, recording how they are resolved, and recording test results. A tracking
system helps you monitor testing progress and evaluate the test success rate.
Our incident-tracking system provides the following fields for recording:
- The tester’s name and department.
- The date and time the test was performed.
- The Windows product name (Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP Professional).
- A full description the test results. A description problems that were encountered,
and its resolution.
Some organizations use a paper-based system to document test results, recording
results on the page that describes the test case. With such a system, however, it
is difficult to keep track of which tests have been performed and to create summary
reports. Our automated system creates reports to monitor test results and progress,
reducing error and allowing more efficient results.
